My brother’s Boy Scout troop’s website (he’s scoutmaster) has been hacked. An image of the hacker is forming in my head. It ain’t pretty.

FIR Interview: Sarah Dean Forrester on Crisis... →
Crisis communication is a hot topic. In episode #310 of The Hobson & Holtz Report on January 14, it was a primary discussion point, addressing the different types of communication crises.
FIR co-host Shel Holtz expanded on that discussion with Crisis communication fundamentals, a post that looked at the roots of a crisis, three major categories of crisis, why crises escalate, developing...
Completely done in for the night. Conolly’s attack on Chris Heuer didn’t help my mood so off to bed to await a better day. G’night all.
If there’s one seat on the plane with the light burned out, it’ll be mine.

The 30-second spot isn’t dead, just our patience with being interrupted by them. Those “America’s Favorite Commercials” specials in prime-time television draw strong enough ratings to prove that people—at least, some people—are willing to sit and watch half-minute tales used by advertisers to pitch their wares.
Nothing symbolizes the vibrancy of the 30-second spot more than the Super Bowl, even...
Oops…that’s the National Asphalt Pavement Association.
Now, off to speak to (ready?) the National Asphalt Pavement
@jangles I was out of cards when I left yesterday, so I just printed some more. Avery labels make life pretty easy.
@sernovitz Rochester in January, eh? I bet it’s a bit chilly.
A speedy recovery to Joe Thornley (Thornley Fallis PR), recovering from a burst appendix.
Just got to my hotel room in Phoenix; room service is here already. Missed the SOTU. Awwww…
@TDefren Outwit the game? The Unix app? There are a few Outwits out there.
@billseaver A bit overblown; in Star Tribune they noted they’re revisiting policy. Story got broad enough play we left it alone on FIR.
Off to the airport. Phoenix tomorrow, Basking Ridge NJ on Wednesday, home midday Thursday. Mmm…airport food…

Just heard 2 words used together I’ve never heard used together before: “whore arborist”
Handling production of my wife’s podcast, then more work. On a Sunday. At least it’s miserable and raining outside.
Wow…I’m one of the first two people@mjdj is following — the other is @jangles. Welcome to Twitter!
Stupid dog. Ate half a chocolate cake. Run to the veterinary emergency room for purging and activated charcoal. Most expensive cake ever.
@billbrandon Nope, but I’ve had a Lab and know whereof you speak. This one’s a shepherd mix, mostly Australian. Dumb as a stump.
Hey there, Nick. And you, too, Chris.

@jangles Have a good show. Did you line up a guest co-host?
@TomRaftery I’m beginning to think I’m the only person on the planet having no problems with Vista — on two different machines.
Up at an ungodly hour to fine-tune today’s workshop presentation. Good morning, to those you also awake (like @jangles)

I’m part of a group that gets together semi-formally to talk about employee communications. Most of the members work for Fortune 100 companies and their travel is covered by their employers. There are a couple of us, though, who were invited to participate based on our expertise; we were also involved in creating the group. So, when the group meets, I pay all expenses on my own nickel.

I maintain a couple of lifestreams, one at Tumblr and one at Jaiku. The Tumblr lifestream frustrates the hell out of me. I enter the URL of a perfectly valid feed, then check back to find a big red X and a note informing me that the feed could be found. Jaiku finds all the feeds without any trouble.
In case you haven’t heard of a lifestream or aren’t sure what they are, the concept is simple....
